About Dr. Stuart Rothenberg
Stuart Rothenberg, MD is Chief Medical Officer of the Institute for Mental Health and Resilience of the David Lynch Foundation and national medical director of the Transcendental Meditation Health Professionals Association. A Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, he was a Pulitzer Scholar at Columbia College in New York and received his M.D. degree from New York University School of Medicine (1974).
Dr. Rothenberg was one of the first physicians in the U.S. to be trained as a teacher of the Transcendental Meditation technique. He pioneered the development of integrative mind-body approaches to the prevention and treatment of chronic disorders that include Transcendental Meditation. Dr. Rothenberg is co-author of several published studies documenting the effects of this program on chronic disorders and has presented these findings at leading medical schools and research centers both nationally and abroad.
Since April 2020, Dr. Rothenberg has headed up the “Heal the Healers Now” program, a national initiative which offers training in the TM-based Healthcare Provider Wellness Program to frontline healthcare workers. This program has been implemented in over 100 hospitals and medical centers nationwide and researched in 8 peer-reviewed published studies to date.
