Patrick Bade
The Art of the Film Poster

Sunday 5.04.2026

How to watch

This lecture starts on 5 April at 5:00pm (UK).

Summary

Film posters have provided some of the most striking and memorable images of the 20th century, sometimes more memorable than the films themselves. This talk explores the golden age of the film poster on both sides of the Atlantic, and shows how European sensibilities differed from American, even when advertising the same films.
