How to watch

This lecture starts on 3 November at 5:00pm (UK).

Summary

By 1914 literacy had expanded across much of society in Western Europe and North America, leading to the production of more newspapers, both local and national—a great impact on emerging “public opinion.” The period also saw the inception of the film industry, with its cultural impact on music, dance, fashion, language, and much more. All of which lead towards a more egalitarian society.
