How to watch

This lecture starts on 24 February at 5:00pm (UK).

Summary

This week we shall take a break from our chronological history of modern China to look at the history of Hong Kong, from the beginning of British rule in 1842 to its challenging position in today’s China. This history will throw much light upon both China and Britain, and indeed the relationship between the two.
